Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is a nonprofit ministry that loves and cares for our homeless neighbors throughout greater Seattle.
We started in 1932 to feed and care for those suffering from the Great Depression. From a simple, borrowed soup kettle, we now love and care for thousands of homeless and hurting people each day.
Our mission is to bring the love of Jesus and hope for a new life to our homeless neighbors.
Our vision is to see every homeless neighbor — beloved, redeemed, restored.
We address root causes and break the cycle of homelessness by meeting urgent physical needs, building relationships, and offering long-term recovery programs. Our efforts work to restore dignity and help move people to healthy, thriving lives.
We want everyone to know, no matter their circumstances, they are loved and cared for, by us and by God.
OUR HISTORY
Seattle's Union Gospel Mission started serving soup to thousands of homeless and unemployed people during the Great Depression. More than eighty-five years later, we care for our neighbors in more ways than ever.
If you're like most people, when you entrust an organization such as ours with your money, you want it to be used wisely and you want it to make a lasting difference in the lives of people who need it most. We want the same.
