The homelessness crisis in the greater Seattle area is massive and growing. Now is the time to strengthen our capabilities and expand our capacity. Over the next five years, Seattle's Union Gospel Mission will increase organizational and programmatic capacity to meet growing demand through three critical strategic initiatives of the Breakthrough Campaign.
Please join us in the call to see our homeless neighbors beloved, redeemed, and restored.
1. Address the Crisis for Women and Children
•Open two new women and children’s emergency overnight shelters, one in Seattle and one in South King County
•These new shelters will more than triple current capacity, help meet rising demand and fill gaps in service
“If we could share with our donors the moment that women and children’s eyes fill with hope; that would be priceless.”
Lisa Mauga Associate VP of Women and Children’s Ministries
2. Optimize Intake & Launch Program for Mission Graduates
• The Mission will build a 24/7/365 world class system that greatly increases program participation, optimizes our external referral system and help us reach of our goal of 5,000 people starting program and 2,000 graduating from program by 2030.
• Building a post -graduation program will help increase our already high graduation success rate beyond 70%.
“The referral and intake initiative was birthed thanks to the Mission’s dedication to better serving those in need.”
Tiffany Washington Director of Intake and Referral

“We know that mental health impacts all areas of life and without one's mental health being intact, there is much more opportunity to lose relationships, economic status through job loss and end up homeless and struggling more than one ever thought possible.”
Kristiann Smith Behavioral Health Director
