New Shelter Opens in Seattle

Today, we are celebrating the opening of a new Women and Children's Shelter in Seattle. Until now the Mission has had to turn away on average 40+ women per week—many with children—who reach out looking for a safe place to stay.

The Mission’s new emergency shelter represents a commitment to the most vulnerable members of our community — women and children — to provide a safe and secure haven of hope, which is especially important during the winter season.

The 106-bed shelter will give women and children the opportunity to stabilize and begin to work towards a new life. Our team is ready to serve our community, to meet our homeless neighbors right where they are.

We believe that the work that's going to happen in this shelter will impact homeless women and children tremendously, so much so it will restore hope in their lives.
