Moms and kids find joy, healing, and hope
Seattle's Union Gospel Mission - May 26 2025Joy, Healing, and Hope for Moms and Kids
May at the Mission has been nothing short of extraordinary. This past month, programs were filled with laughter, joy, and a renewed sense of hope as we celebrated Mother’s Day with the incredible women and children rebuilding their lives.
Thanks to your ongoing support and the compassionate dedication of our volunteers, we hosted a series of heartwarming events throughout May that brought families together — many of them experiencing these kinds of joyful celebrations for the first time in years.

Each gathering was thoughtfully designed to provide more than just a good time — it was about giving moms and kids the chance to experience connection, celebration, and healing.
These simple activities held deeper meaning, they were reminders that healing often begins in moments of joy and connection. For families who have experienced trauma or loss, a moment of normalcy can be deeply powerful.
Thank You for Being Part of the Story
Behind every smile this month was someone like you. Your support ensures that the families we serve not only have a roof over their heads and meals on their plates, but also the chance to rebuild — emotionally, spiritually, and relationally.
While one afternoon of fun might not seem life-changing on its own, these events are part of a much larger story. One of redemption. And it’s your faithful generosity that helps write that story day after day. At the Mission, we know healing doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a journey. And we’re so grateful you’ve chosen to walk alongside these families through every step — with kindness, with consistency, and with open hearts.
Thank you. You are a vital part of this redemptive work. Because of you, mothers and children are finding their footing, their hope, and their future.
