Heatwave hits Seattle

Together, we delivered close to 6,000 water bottles to our homeless neighbors during the record-breaking heatwave — that topped 100 degrees for three straight days!

Darren, our Assistant Director of Outreach, shared with us, “I handed someone cold water and he said, 'I don’t know what I (would) do in this heat without this water.' This is why we're out here!”

This is lifesaving work that is made possible by compassionate people like you. Thank you!

During the heatwave, your lifesaving gifts:

    • Opened a Hydration Station in Seattle
    • Supplied water for Hydration Station in Kent
    • Delivered Summer Survival Kits with items like food, water, and sunscreen
    • Distributed several cases of clean T-shirts to replace dirty, sweaty clothing
    • Launched mobile trailer to provide showers for our homeless neighbors in Burien
    • Offered transportation to and from remote areas throughout greater Seattle
