"Kingdom business is good business."
"I never started out with the intention of volunteering. It came about as a natural spiritual progression", says Devin Beebe, volunteer Mentor at the Mission's Riverton Place Recovery Program.
As somebody who has "traveled the same road" as the men in the recovery program, Devin shares his wisdom to help and support those who are in the same place that he used to be. Devin's testimony uniquely qualifies him to speak into the lives of those he mentors.
In regard to his past, Devin states, "It has given me an understanding and compassion for others trying to survive and flee the same self-destructive path." He adds, "As I serve others, I feel more fulfilled with God's plans and purposes for my life. What others call volunteering, I call ‘kingdom business.'"
If it is on your heart to speak into the lives of recovering men or women as a mentor at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, contact the Department of Volunteer Efforts at 206.723.0767 x169.
